I’m showing hippo(s) in the Brunswick Street Gallery – Works on Paper 2010 prize which opened last night and was awarded one of the acquisitional prizes which was great.

I’ve done other works featuring the Collex hippo before, this one has a total of 9 hippos; the 6 stickers, each bin & the singular Hippo (abstracted – ears=lids, nose=wheels, mouth=drain)
Having some fun taking product shots of random stuff, I like the worn quality.

NoseWhat remains of the clay self portrait I made in 1998, we had to measure our face to get it exact – I found it a bit painful but the result was quite good. At the end we created silicon molds and cast them in plaster. I also cast one in cement.
